Our Story

Agave was born from a journey that began when our founder, Dr. Vadiee, immigrated to the U.S. as a teenager. Settling first in Austin, Texas, he was captivated by the unique flavors of Tex-Mex cuisine, with a special love for salsa. Although his time in Austin was brief, it left an indelible mark on his culinary heart. Years later, as his son attended the University of Texas at Austin, Dr. Vadiee frequently visited and embarked on salsa-tasting adventures, deepening his appreciation for Tex-Mex traditions.

When his son and daughter-in-law relocated to New Orleans and moved in with his family, Dr. Vadiee’s love of Tex-Mex cuisine was reignited, and his passion for cooking blossomed. Determined to make his daughter-in-law, a Texan, feel at home, he began mastering Tex-Mex dishes, perfecting recipes that soon became family favorites. Inspired by the joy of sharing these meals with loved ones, Dr. Vadiee decided to bring the rich, vibrant flavors of Tex-Mex cuisine to his community. And so, Agave was created, a place where we welcome you into our family and every dish reflects the warmth and the spirit of togetherness.
